Beginning March 23rd, GW will be moving most classes online through at least April 5. Many of you may be returning home and/or practicing ‘social distancing’, however, our resources will be available online and virtually so that you can continue to achieve your personal and professional goals. Below we have summarized information regarding career counseling appointments, employer engagement, and more.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at [email protected].
Career Counseling Appointments
Undergraduate - During this time, SEAS undergraduate students should refer to communications from the GW Center for Career Services regarding career coaching appointments.
Graduate - Schedule a video or phone appointment with the Senior Career Counselor in Handshake. Be sure to check your email for appointment confirmations and instructions.
Employer Engagement , Interviews, and More
Employers have also been faced with responding to the COVID-19 situation and therefore may be cancelling events on-campus or moving events online. Be sure to check Handshake for the most up-to-date information on recruiting events.
Remember that employers are responsible for keeping their employees safe so their responses regarding interviews or offers may be delayed. We encourage you to engage in healthy practices, especially if travelling to an interview or other professional development opportunity.
If your in-person interview has been moved online, we suggest that you practice in that format. You can find more on page 2 of our Interview Preparation Guide and conduct a self-evaluation using InterviewStream. We also suggest reading 8 Skype Interview Tips: Ace Your Virtual Job Interview.
Please note, while you may not be on-campus during this time, many of our career development resources are available online. For your convenience, we have provided a few shortcuts below.
