Dear SEAS Community,
My family and I just finished watching the GW Virtual Commencement, and I was filled with pride for our graduates and our entire GW Community. We are all fortunate to be a part of this wonderful university, and the university is truly fortunate to count all of you as part of its membership – after all, a university IS its people.
I also greatly enjoyed our SEAS Virtual Graduation Celebrations on Friday afternoon and evening, and I would like to give a huge thank you and round of applause to those in SEAS who made them possible! As she does every year, Sandra Little led the SEAS graduation efforts, and she was supported by a large number of people (too many to list here). Many more contributed and reviewed slides and video clips. Thank you to everyone!
To the Class of 2020... On behalf of all of SEAS – congratulations! I know watching from home didn’t hold a candle to celebrating in the Smith Center and on the National Mall, but I hope you still felt the pride, affection, and best wishes of the entire SEAS Community. We’ll miss you, but we can’t wait to see what all you accomplish out there in the world. Remember – you are now and always will be a member of the SEAS Community. So please come visit us often, or at least drop us a note to let us know what you are up to and how you continue to Raise High!
